Early Beginnings

Simone and Charles are both from the Warren, Ohio area. They met in their early 20's. Charles fell hard for Simone and they were soon married after dating for only a few months. While Simone was serving in the Army, they were relocated from Ohio to Tacoma, Wash. in 1989. They were faithful and active at Altheimer Memorial COGIC in the hilltop area when Charles felt the calling to go into the ministry. He served as an Elder for 12 years, then God led him to become a pastor. Living Word Ministries was born in 2000.

Charles worked at Boeing for 23 years. Upon leaving, he went back to college and earned a degree in Family and Marriage Counseling. Simone is a manager at a medical company.

They have two gifted sons, Aaron and Brian. Brian serves as a minister at the church and Aaron works as an engineer at Boeing. Charles and Simone had a devestating loss of their middle child Jessica. Through the pain and loss of their only beloved daughter, the couple has learned to lean on God even more. Although the void is always there, God has healed them of their hurt and despair, and shown them how to use their experiences even more to help others.

Living Word Ministries

Living Word Ministries is a friendly church, with a heart to minister to its members and community. Annual events include outreach to single-family homes, children and those in need through providing kids with back-to-school supplies and clothing, full Thanksgiving meals and Christmas gift giving. Various outreach activies occur throughout the year such as Community Day carnivals, group outtings and beach trips, marriage and family building conferences and partnering with Pierce County's Chatholic Children's Services.

Pastor Charles and Simone are a loving, humble, God-fearing couple who, with the help of God, endeavor to help you find the answer to many of life's questions and issues. Prayer, Bible study and worship are the key components to living a righteous life. They are honored and privileged to serve God by serving their congregation and community.
